Key Roles and
Areas in Film
Writer: The job for this is to come up with a story line for
the movie and design the scripts without these you wouldn't be making a film.
Producer: Producers are responsible for all aspects of a film's
production making a great cast and crew together and turns the writers ideas
into a film.
Casting Director: Sets up the auditions for each role and
then decides which actor he or she wants for which role. Also works with
director to achieve the best out of the actor/actress as much as they can.
Directors: They bring the whole production together making
the movie come to life as well as adding a few of their own ideas to improve.
Film Finance: Works with the management and give a value on
how well they estimate the film will be. This would be in the pre production
and development stage.
Camera Operator: This person prepares and operates with the
camera and works with the director to see what camera angle, what type of shot
is needed.
Editor: Works really closely with the director after shooting
the film to come up with the finished film (without bloopers and deleted scenes).
Production Designer: Manages all the scenes that need to be
set up and everything to do with the visual aspect of the film.
Marketing: They are responsible for promoting the film in
many different ways they can within a budget also in as many countries that
would make the company gain profit.
Exhibition: This is basically getting the film into the cinema
and also DVD.
